Origin: Australasia.
Habitat: Forests and scrub vegetation, but is also found in parks and gardens, in towns.
Nesting: Nests in holes in trees. Two or three eggs are laid which Hatch after about 30 days.
Facts: The Bobook Owl is about 35 cms (14 inches) long with a rounded head, prominent bill and feathered legs and feet. It preys on small birds and insects which it catches in mid-air, and also rodents.
